We had a chance to check out the HTC One at Reliance Web World in Juhu on Tuesday, where Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez was present for the unveiling of the new smart phone.

Faisal Siddiqui, Country Head, HTC India, had to wait until Ms. Fernandez had left the building to direct everyone’s attention to the smart phone that has garnered a lot of good press internationally for its exciting innovations and a truly noteworthy attempt to create a new standard for smart phones, especially when it comes to design and display.

Addressing the media, Siddiqui said, “People today immerse themselves in a constant stream of updates, news and information. Although smart phones are one of the main ways we stay in touch with the people and information we care about, conventional designs have failed to keep pace with how people are actually using them.”

In an interview with Real Reviews, Siddiqui once again referred to the consumer’s need to engage with his/her smart phone with just the flick of a thumb, made possible in the HTC One with BlinkFeed which is the main screen you see when you unlock the phone, which presents you with a magazine-style layout of news and social media updates. In the video, Siddiqui also talks about the One’s Ultrapixel camera which has taken the megapixel race to a new level, optimized hardware and superior battery performance.

We also did a quick hands-on video, where I talk about the three main features of the phone – the 4.7-inch full HD display, the HTC Sense 5.0 UI and the One’s UltraPixel camera. To read more about the HTC One’s specifications, read our earlier blog post here.
