When we first announced the idea of holding tryouts for youth reviewers – auditions for our next consumer experts – at college events, we weren’t quite sure what to expect. But our first round of tryouts at R.E.D. 2014-15 (Rotaract Entertainment Destination), a district-level Rotaract event, proved that today’s young consumer is confident, articulate and does not shy away from the limelight.

Organized and attended by members of Rotaract Clubs from Churchgate to Ambernath, this crowd of outgoing, enthusiastic youngsters was the perfect start to our newly launched #InstaReviews – One-minute, on-the-spot reviews of products you love or hate!

Right from engineering student and Rotaract Club of Bombay Uptown (RCBU) president Abhinav Garg’s impressively thorough review of the Apple Mac Book Pro to the cute and bubbly Sonali Singh’s confession that Maybeline lip color makes her feel sexy, we were floored by the genuine responses we received.

Not surprisingly, mobile phones ruled the roost and the Google Nexus 5 and iPhone turned up as the two most popular models.

The Real Reviews team moved among the crowd, looking for fresh, interesting faces that we believe had the most potential. Besides, live sign-ups, live tweets and photo updates on Facebook over the course of the two days of the event kept the Rotaractors constantly engaged.

We can’t wait for our next round of #InstaReview tryouts at Jai Hind’s Entourage 2014 on Dec 14, Sunday. Join us there! We will also be visiting other college fest across Mumbai. Get our schedule here.  Wait up for their InstaReview videos, coming shortly and don’t forget to vote for your favourite. We’ll keep you posted!
